The IIiA at the Smart City Expo & World Congress 2014

The IIiA participated at the Smart City Expo & World Congress 2014. The event, which took place in Barcelona on 18 - 20 November, is the key meeting point for innovative cities, companies and universities in the smart cities arena. The IIiA in collaboration withe the Girona Smart  City Chair,  promoted the University of Girona's MSc in Smart Cities. Lluïsa Marsal, the Master's coordinator, and Quim Meléndez, head of the eXiT research group, gave lectures on this subject attended by some 20 students. Marsal focused on the social issues faced by modern cities while Meléndez lectured on energy efficiency. Xavier Manyer, research manager at the IIiA, and Roberto Petite, project manager also attended the event focusing on networking and brokerage activities.
