08/09/2014

Josep Lluís Marzo, co-director of the BCDS research group, will take part in the research project entitled "Spreading Processes over Multilayer and Interconnected Networks". The tree year project has been awarded $ 500,000 by the National Science Foundation, the American agency funding fundamental research projects in the fields of science and engineering. Dr Marzo's is an Adjunct Professor at the  Kansas State University (KSU) and his participation takes place in the framework of the existing collaboration between BCDS and KSU. Caterina Scoglio, full professor at KSU and director of the Sunflower Networking Group (SNG) will be the principal investigator. This project shows the successful collaboration between BCDS and SNG. They have complementary expertise as BCDS works on robustness of networks and SNG focuses on epidemic propagation in complex networks.
