Daniela Aguirre is a PhD Student at the University of Girona in the BCDS research group.
Joaquim Armengol obtained a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 1992 and a PhD in Industrial Engineering with the mention of European Doctor from the Universitat de Girona (UdG) in 2000.
Alessandro Artusi obtained a PhD in Computer Science at the Vienna University of Technology in 2004. He is a Ramon y Cajal Fellow at the University of Girona where he carries out R&D on Computational Photography, Image Processing and Color Science.
Cecilia Avila Garzón is Telematics Engineer at the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas in Colombia. She received a M.Sc. in Industrial Informatics (2012) at the University of Girona and is a Ph.D. Student in the doctoral program in Technology at the same University. Her research interests include: e-Learning, Learning objects, web accessibility, technology-enhanced learning, intelligent agents, semantic web and case-based reasoning.
Jorge Luis Bacca Acosta is Telematics Engineer at the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas in Colombia. He received a M.Sc. in Industrial Informatics (2012) at the University of Girona and is a Ph.D. Student in the doctoral program in Technology at the University of Girona. His research interests include: Augmented reality, technology-enhanced learning, intelligent agents, semantic web and case-based reasoning. He is a researcher in the BCDS Group (SGR 1202) at the University of Girona. He is participating in the ARrELS project (Augmented Reality in Adaptive Learning Management Systems for All). And he participated in the European Projects ALTER-NATIVA and Inclusive Learning.
Anton Bardera is a lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Girona. He received a M.Sc. in Telecommunications engineering (2002) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and a Ph.D. in Computer Science (2008) at the University of Girona. His research interests include image processing, scientific visualization, information theory, and biomedical applications. He has authored or co-authored 15 journal papers and many conference papers in his areas of interest.
Imma Boada obtained a PhD in Computer Science at the Polytechnic School of Catalonia in 2001. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Girona where she carries out R&D on:

Dr. Miquel Feixas is an associate professor in Computer Science at the University of Girona, Spain. He received a M.Sc. in Theoretical Physics (1979) at the UAB (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the UPC (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, 2002). His research is focused on the application of information theory techniques to radiosity, global illumination, visualization, computational aesthetics, viewpoint selection and image processing.
Inès Ferrer obtained a B.S degree in Computer Engineering from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UPC) in 1991 and a PhD in Technologies from the Universitat de Girona (UdG) in 2016. She developes her research on MICELab research group. She is a lecturer at the University of Girona where she carries out R&D on:
- Robust and non-linear control
- Interval methods for robust control.
- Active and semiactive control for offshore support platforms for wind power generation.
- Sustainable energy sources.
Marta Fort received a PhD in Software from the University of Girona in 2008. She is teaching at the University of Girona and carries out R&D on Computational Geometry (Application fields: Computer Graphics, Geographic Information Systems, Facility Location).
Lluís Fàbrega has been an associate professor in computer science at the University of Girona (UdG) since 2008. He received a degree in telecommunications engineering (1995) and a master’s degree in mobile communications (1996) at the Polytechnical University of Catalonia, and a Ph.D. degree in computer science at the UdG (2008). His research interests include the design and performance evaluation of routing, traffic engineering and quality of service mechanisms in the Internet and in connection oriented network technologies.
Researcher in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Automation at the University of Girona. I'm a member of the 4T Laboratory in the Control Engineering and Intelligent Systems Group. Currently, my research interests are focused in contributing to the development of machine learning techniques for Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) to increase productivity and efectiveness in healthcare.

Francisco Llaneras is a lecturer at the University of Girona. He has a background in control systems engineering, and he received a Ph.D. in Industrial Automation and Informatics at the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia (2011). His research interests include: systems biology, bioprocess engineering and computational biology. He has authored 8 papers (JCR) in his areas of interest, with more than 200 citations combined.
Ningsu Luo is a Professor of Control Systems Engineering at University of Girona. He received his PhD degree in Control Engineering from Southeast University in 1990 and PhD degree in Physics Science from University of the Basque Country in 1994. His main research interests are modeling, identification and control design for systems with complex dynamics, with application to wind turbine control and monitoring, mobile robotics, sustainable tillage, mechatronic systems, biomedical processes, active and semiactive vibration control of civil engineering structures, offshore support platforms and automotive suspension systems.
Senior lecturer at the Dept. of Electrical, Electronic Engineering and Automation of the University of Girona. She received an Engineering degree in Computer Science at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1986 and a PhD in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) at the Polytechnic School of Catalonia in 1993. She has served as a faculty member with the Dept. of Computer Science of the University Rovira i Virgili and with several private companies. She co-founded Newronia in 2001. Her current research includes decision support systems, case-based reasoning, machine learning and optimization. She is a member of the Catalan Association for Artificial Intelligence, federated to the European Coordinating Committee for Artificial Intelligence.

Joaquim Meléndez obtained a PhD in Industrial Engineering at the University of Girona in 1998. He is a lecturer at the University of Girona where he carries out R&D on:

Juan Pablo Meneses Ortegón is a Systems and Computing Engineer (2009) at the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia, Tunja - Colombia and he finished his studies and thesis and he is waiting to get his title of M.Sc. in Systems and Computing Engineer at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá-Colombia. In this moment he is a Ph.D. student in Technology at the University of Girona and is a researcher in the BCDS Group at the same university. His research is about knowledge management, e-learning, collaborative learning and software engeniering.

Carles Pous received the degree in Telecommunication Engineer from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC,Spain) in 1993 and the PhD degree from the Universitat de Girona (UdG) in 2004. He is an associate professor at the UdG. His research is focused on the data mining techniques applied to energy efficiency, including data acquisition systems and wireless sensor networks. From 2009 to 2011 he co-directed the R&D&I department of Lafcarr Project & Design. In this period he gained experience in running real projects and transferring research results to exploitation. He is an IEEE member since 1992.

I'm doing my research within the Graphics and Imaging Laboratory in the Institut d'Informàtica i Aplicacions at the Universitat de Girona. My subgroup is specifically focused on the application of Information Theory in computer graphics. Until 2006, we worked mainly with the global illumination problem (radiosity and ray-tracing techniques). Since then, we have been studying problems related to imaging and shapes.

Miquel Rustullet Reñé has been a Technical Industrial Electrical Engineer specializing in Industrial Electronics since 1985. He has been a professor at the University of Girona since 1992 and has a degree in University School since 1994. He has taught at the Polytechnic School of Engineering Studies Industrial and technical degrees, in subjects related to electronics, automation and control, facilities and technical office.

Mateu Sbert obtained a PhD in Computer Science at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in 1997. He is a Professor at the University of Girona where he carries out R&D on the application of Monte Carlo, Integral Geometry and Information Theory techniques to Video Games, Medical Imaging, Global Illumination, Computational Aesthetics, Visualization, Shape Recognition and Viewpoint Selection.

Joan Antoni Sellarès obtained a PhD in Mathematics at the Polytechnic School of Catalonia. He is teaching Computational Geometry and Software Engineering at the University of Girona.
His primary research area is Computational Geometry and its application in fields like Computer Graphics, Geographic Information Systems, Facility Location, Spatio-temporal Data Mining and Geometrical Statistics.
Dr. Josep Soler is an associate professor in Computer Science at the University of Girona, Catalonia. He received a M.Sc. in Applied Physics (1980) at the UAB (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the UdG (Universitat de Girona 2010). His research is focused on the development of e-learning environments.
Hendrys Tobar is a PhD student in Technology at University of Girona. He received his M.Sc. at the same University in 2013 and his Systems Engineering title at University of Cauca in 2010. His research is about the use of Augmented Reality Games for Learning. His experience includes Game Design and Development. He has designed a game for teaching maths using AR. And he has experience at teaching.
Ferran Torrent Fontbona is a PhD student in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Girona. He received an Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree (2011) at the Polytechnique University of Catalonia (UPC) and a M.Sc. in Industrial Data Processing, Automatic Control, Computing and Systems (2012) at the University of Girona. His research interests include: optimization methods, location-allocation problems, workflow scheduling and energy demand response methods under the smart grid new paradigm.
