STARVIEWER: Medical Visualization Platform

Starviewer is an image-based platform for medical diagnose. It integrates state-of-the-art technologies for processing and visualizing radiological images, which allows a high degree of automation in the diagnostic process.

Starviewer is an image-based platform which assists physicians in diagnosing disease and injury. It is an easy-to-use tool which integrates state-of-the-art techniques for processing and visualizing images. Starviewer brings together GILAB's R&D in computer graphics with the Institut de Diagnosi per la Imatge (IDI) expertise. IDI is a prestigious centre which collaborates with the main Catalan hospitals.

GILAB has addressed radiologists' challenge of automating the diagnose of injuries and illnesses by developing new methods to calculate the volume of lesions, to register multi-modal images and to display in a unified way the different registered models of an image.

Starviewer has been designed to be used daily in real scenarios. That is  why it adheres to the standards set by the IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise). Starviewer is currently being used by the most important state-funded Catalan hospitals.

Starviewer is a cross-platform application available on Windows and GNU/Linux OS.  It supports DICOM standard and IHE profiles.
