Anton Bardera at WFAFQI

Anton Bardera, researcher at GILAB, attended the workshop on farm animal and food quality imaging (WFAFQI). The event was run by COST action FAIM in Helsinki on June 17th and it took place in the framework of the Scandinavian conference on image analysis (SCIA 2013). The goal of the workshop was to bridge the gap between food technology and computer vision and image analysis technologies. Anton Bardera gave the paper “A new segmentation framework for in vivo internal organs removal of CT scans of pigs”. The paper is on a computer program developed jointly with the Norwegian company Norsvin and with the Institute of Research of Food Technology (IRTA). Given a set of CT images of a pig, the program automatically classifies its tissues, an essential step in order to measure the quality of the meat.
